U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.1 percent to 102.890 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.0939 U.S. dollars from 1.0922 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.3072 dollars from 1.3047 dollars in the previous
