Man to serve 60 years in prison related to 2023 sexual abuse cases
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was sentenced Sept. 26 in connection with three 2023 charges related to sexual abuse.
According to the Travis County District Attorney’s Office (DA), a jury found 25-year-old Dublas Vasquez guilty of aggravated kidnapping - sexual abuse and two counts of sexual assault.
The DA said testimony for Vasquez’s trial began Sept. 25, and the following day, the jury deliberated for under 45 minutes and found Vasquez guilty of the three charges.
Vasquez received 60 years for his aggravated kidnapping sexual abuse case and 20 years for each of his sexual assault cases, according to the DA. The sentences will run concurrently at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
According to Travis County jail records, Vasquez has been booked in the facility since September 2023. It is unclear if his time served in jail will be credited toward his prison sentence.
