One dead after truck crash in Amsterdam
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal truck crash that took place in Amsterdam on Thursday. The crash happened just before 7 a.m. on State Highway 67.
The initial investigation determined that a pickup truck being driven by Timothy Kline, 25, of Amsterdam, was heading westbound on State Highway 67 when it reportedly drifted into the opposite lane. This resulted in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer traveling east.
Deputies, state police, and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures on Kline, but he was ultimately declared dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer has been fully cooperative with law enforcement, according to the sheriff's office. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
