PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Sunny and warm weather will fade to wet and cool conditions around the Portland, Vancouver area over the next week.

Clouds will slowly increase through midday with a few sun breaks this afternoon. Temps will likely bump into the low to mid 70s across the Willamette Valley. Portland's average temperature should only be in the mid 60s for the middle of October. So, Friday's highs will sit nearly 10-degree warmer than average.

Warm and mostly cloudy skies return to the Portland area Friday, October 11, 2024

The warming trend expected across the Pacific Northwest will continue to build through the weekend. Mostly sunny skies will sent Willamette Valley temperatures into the upper 70s if not even close to 80 for some. This warm and dry weather pattern will last through the start of the week.

A trough of cooler and wetter weather is expected to move into western Oregon and southwest Washington by the middle of next week. That could drop Portland area temperatures from the upper 70s this weekend to the upper 50s by late next week.

Lowering snow elevations are expected late next week with cooler and wetter weather likely for the Pacific Northwest

The cooler and wetter weather pattern late next week will help drop snow elevations as low as 5,000 ft. by the end of the week. This could potentially be the first significant snow event of the season for the Cascades. Snow could be possible along the mountain passes, but is subject to change with an outlook nearly a week out.
