Police investigating after car crash leads to officer-involved shooting
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Oklahoma City Police were still on scene early Friday morning after a car crash led to an officer-involved shooting Thursday night.
Officials say the accident happened just after 10:30 p.m. near NW 122nd Street and N MacArthur Boulevard.
When authorities arrived to the scene, the suspect started firing gun shots, police say.
"After the collision, that suspect had a firearm and was shooting off rounds from that firearm," said Capt. Valerie Littlejohn with OKCPD. "We don't know if she was shooting at anyone or just shooting them off, you know, in the air or into the ground."
When officers determined a threat, they began firing their firearms at the suspect. Seven officers were involved in the shooting and all have been placed on administrative leave pending investigation.
OKCPD says suspect was shot and taken to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead. No officers were injured during the shooting.
