IT’S one of the biggest events for parents – the annual Aldi wooden toy sale.

The epic bargains, which included Cuthbert the Caterpillar, were a major hit last year, with greedy Brits flogging them online for eye-watering sums afterwards.

And with Christmas just around the corner, this year’s toy event saw bargain-mad Aldi shoppers pile their trolleys high – with dozens of customers queuing outside since 7am, despite the chilly weather.

One of those keen to get her hands on the popular kid essentials was mum Wallis Eve, who shared the manic scenes inside and outside the German retailer on TikTok.

The now-viral video, which has racked up more than a staggering 2.1million views in just one day, saw numerous money-smart Brits lining up by the entrance in the early hours of the morning.

According to Wallis, despite reaching the store by 7.30am, there were already several bargain hunters in front of her.

Once the cash-savvy mum had managed to get inside Aldi, the store was already chock-a-block of customers looking to purchase anything they could from the much-anticipated event.

As Wallis (@walliseve.x) was filming the pure chaos at the supermarket, she could see fellow Aldi fans pushing their trolleys filled to the brim with boxes of toys.

Whilst some only contained a few toys, other shoppers appeared to have grabbed as much as they could – one customer, the clip revealed, appeared to have taken a whopping ten boxes of goodies.

This was then beaten by another bargain lover who had chucked at least 16 toys in their shopping trolley, as they were walking around the store.

It’s bad news for those who still haven’t had the chance to check out the epic sale, as according to the mother, there was barely anything left afterwards.

”Can confirm that the majority of everything they had in stock was gone by the time I left at 8:30.”

Luckily for Wallis, mum to a beautiful girl, she had managed to snap up piles of the viral toys, including the popular baking set.

”I was asking if they had anything I was looking for out back and they were happy enough to go look,” she explained in a follow-up video showing off her monster haul.

Amongst the popular bargains was a dentist set, £9.99, takeaway set, £9.99, hot chocolate set with biscuits, £9.99, air fryer, £9.99, doughnut box, £6.99, as well as wooden doll house furniture set for £14.99.

The lucky customer also went home with a circus train set, £14.99, wooden coffee machine, £9.99, and box of neatly decorated cupcakes that cost her £6.99.

‘This is ridiculous’

The shopping madness has taken the internet by storm, leaving many social media furious.

One joked: ”And they criticised kids for queueing for Prime.”

Another criticised the store, writing: ”Aldi need to stop people bulk buying. It’s not fair on a lot of people.”

”The second hand embarrassment is strong,” a third chimed in.

Someone else added: ”Hope if ( when ) people see these online for triple the normal price they don’t buy it..leave the greedy few with their purchases.”

”This is ridiculous,” a fifth was baffled by the toy mania.

Aldi claims this years range of wooden toys is its “biggest ever” and that shoppers can expect the “same great value” as 2023’s set.

This comes as rival Lidl announced its own range of wooden toys.
