The Mariners offseason just got a little bit more complicated.

Hello everyone! It’s time to start off this Friday with some news from around the league.

MLB Playoff Scores...

  • The Guardians successfully mounted a frantic comeback to win Game 4 against the Tigers by a 5-4 score, evening the series at 2-2.
  • For the fourth time in eight years, the Yannkees are headed to the ALCS, following a 3-1 victory over the Royals in Game 4.

In Mariners news...

  • Jeff Passan reported that Jorge Polanco has undergone knee surgery after apparently playing through an injury all season. Polanco should be ready to go come spring training, though it’s now less likely that the M’s will pick up his player option.

Around the league...

  • The Pohlad Family has announced its intention to sell the Twins after 40 years of having a controlling stake in the team.
  • The Rays say that it may be weeks before they understand the full extent of the damage to Tropicana Field caused by Hurricane Milton. Thankfully, nobody was hurt during the Wednesday night storm that destroyed the stadium’s roof.
  • The White Sox are reportedly zeroing in on a small group of managerial candidates, which strangely includes former Angels skipper Phil Nevin.
  • The qualifying offer value has been set for this winter at $21.05 million. Unlike last offseason, there are no obvious candidates on the M’s to be in consideration for the QO.

Anders’ picks...

  • Backyard Baseball ‘97 was re-released on Steam yesterday. The company has plans to open up the vault on a number of their classic titles in the near future.
