DoT provisionally allocates satellite spectrum to eligible players

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has granted provisional satellite spectrum allocation to Bharti-backed Oneweb and Reliance Jio for six months to test satcom services in India. Firms needing DoT licenses and In-Space authorization can test services but not charge consumers. Final commercial rollout awaits Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's pricing recommendations.
