LIEMC4 conference to spotlight multilingualism research

The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), the University of Cyprus and the MultilingNet are co-organising the international conference entitled “Language, Identity and Education in Multilingual Contexts (LIEMC4)” over October 19-20, 2024. The conference aspires to bring together academics at different stages of their careers who show a research interest in manifold aspects of multilingualism.

The conference’s keynote speakers are: Dr Simona Montanari (California State University), Dr Sari Pietikäinen (University of Jyväskylä), Dr Stavroula Tsiplakou, Associate Professor of the Open University of Cyprus, Director of the MA “Greek Linguistics and Literature”, and Dr Ernesto Macaro (University of Oxford). The title of Dr Tsiplakou’s keynote speech is: “Harnessing Linguistic Landscapes for Critical Literacy: Lessons from Cyprus“, and it will be held on October 20 at 2pm (GMT+3).
