Soon travel between Delhi and Kashmir in just 13 hours: New Vande Bharat sleeper train to Srinagar announced; Check route, timings
Traveling to Kashmir is about to become much easier, as Indian Railways is set to launch the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train from Delhi to Srinagar, expected to be operational by January 2025. Commuting to the valley has often been challenging, but this new service aims to simplify the journey. Designed specifically for long-distance travel, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will offer comfortable options including AC 3 Tier (3A), AC 2 Tier (2A), and AC First Class (1A), making the trip both convenient and luxurious.
The train will connect the national capital, Delhi, with Jammu and Kashmir’s capital, Srinagar. Plans are already in place to extend the route further to Baramulla, in North Kashmir.
Once the railway line to Srinagar is fully operational, travelers will be able to take a direct train to Kashmir, cutting the travel time from the current 20 hours to just 13 hours. This development is set to revolutionize the travel experience to Kashmir, making it faster, more affordable, and more convenient than ever before.
New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Schedule and stops
The New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will traverse a distance of 800 kilometers. The train will depart from New Delhi at 7:00 PM and will arrive at Srinagar by 8:00 AM the next day. Along its route, it will make stops at several major stations, including Ambala Cantt Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Kathua, Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Sangaldan, and Banihal, providing convenient access for passengers across these regions.
New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Ticket prices
The new trail will be over different accommodation options on the New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper, i.e., AC 3 Tier (3A), AC 2 Tier (2A), and AC First Class (1A). Tentative ticket prices for the journey are approximately Rs 2,000 for 3A, Rs 2,500 for 2A, and Rs 3,000 for 1A.
