Woman injured in north Topeka apartment fire
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A woman was injured in an apartment fire Thursday in north Topeka.
Topeka firefighters were at the scene of an apartment fire that was first reported just before 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the 2200 block of Northwest Polk Street. Fire crews responding to the call found a woman at the apartment who was initially being treated for serious injuries.
City of Topeka spokeswoman Rosie Nichols said at 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 10 the cause of the fire was found to be accidental and caused by flammable materials left too close to an open flame. The woman who was injured in the fire now has non-life-threatening injuries.
