Player’s survey finds fear of injury is a key impact factor in mental health
October 10 – A survey carried out by English football’s players union has revealed that a majority of players believe their mental health is impacted by the fear of injury.
The anonymous survey by the Professional Footballers’ Association of more than 1,000 male and female professional players during the 2023-24 season found 68% cited injury concerns as having a major impact on their mental wellbeing.
