Woman in critical condition after motorcycle crash on Pinhook Road this morning
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A woman is in critical condition after the motorcycle on which she was riding was hit by a garbage truck this morning, authorities said.
Lafayette Police responded approximately 4:21 a.m. Thursday to the 1900 block of W. Pinhook Road in reference to a motorcycle crash involving injuries.
Investigators said that a garbage truck was making a right-hand turn out of a parking lot into an adjacent parking lot. As the truck was making the turn it struck a motorcycle traveling east on W. Pinhook Road with a passenger.
The unidentified female passenger of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital where she is currently listed in critical but stable condition, police said. The drivers of the motorcycle and the garbage truck reported no injuries on scene.
Pinhook Road was closed for a time in the area, but has since reopened.
