Series three will air next year, yet executives are so confident it will do well, they have commissioned a fourth Reacher.

The crime thriller is based on Lee Child’s novel and the best selling Jack Reacher series.

Series three is based on the seventh novel ‘Persuader’.

It will follow Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, as he goes undercover to the aid a captive informant.

Maria Sten is Frances Neagley, his love interest.

Other characters include Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Jonny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Oliver Richters and Daniel David Stewart.

The second season aired in 2023 and within three days over 50 per cent more people had watched it than the first series.

In a statement, Vernon Sanders, MGM Studios’ head of television, said, “Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations.

“We are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season. We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team.”

Lee Childs is an executive producer on the series, while Reacher is written for television by Nick Santora.

Series two is currently streaming on Prime while series three will air in 2025.

It will see Anthony Michael Hall play a villain called Zachary Beck, and he said in a recent interview with Screen Rant: “I’m playing a great character and a lot of it has been drawn heavily from the book. [I’ve] read the book a few times now.

“He’s like a kingpin of wholesale rug dealing. But the truth is that it’s a front; it’s a cover for something a little seedier.

“I don’t want to say much more than that, but it was also an interesting dynamic because he’s not an outright villain [like] my character of Ezekiel Swan in Trigger Warning.”
