'What a coward!' Trump ripped for refusing to debate Kamala Harris on Fox News

0

Former President Donald Trump on late Wednesday elicited mockery when he ruled out doing another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris even within the friendly confines of Fox News.

The former president made his announcement in an all-caps post on his Truth Social page.

"IT IS VERY LATE IN THE PROCESS, VOTING HAS ALREADY BEGUN - THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH!" he wrote.

Polls show that viewers of the first debate believed that Harris decisively won the contest after she baited him into going on lengthy rant about the crowd sizes at his campaign rallies, and Haitian immigrants eating cats.

Given this, Trump's decision to decline a debate on Fox News was instantly mocked by many critics on Twitter.

"What a coward!" commented the Republicans Against Trump Twitter account.

The Four Seasons Total Landscaping parody account, meanwhile, taunted Trump by posting a video of a man in a chicken suit.

SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah, on the other hand, speculated that Trump's "handlers won't let him" debate "because he will bomb horribly!"

Conservative Jonah Goldberg argued that Trump's repeated analogy comparing Harris to a losing boxer demanding a rematch was off the mark.

"It’s true (enough) that losing prize fighters demand rematches," he wrote. "But winning poker players often want to play again after fleecing a whale. Seems to me the second analogy better explains why Harris wants to debate again and Trump doesn’t."

And former Biden administration economist Brendan Duke simply joked, "Donald Trump can win the debate with Harris if Mike Pence has the courage."
