Showing at WatchTime New York 2024: Norqain Independence Skeleton Chrono
Norqain, the adventurous Swiss watch company, will present its latest creation at WatchTime New York 2024 in the Independence Skeleton Chrono. Running from October 18 to 20 at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall, the event will showcase over thirty-five incredible watch brands, with Norqain presenting one of its most exciting new models to date. The new model takes the original Independence silhouette as its base, complete with its robust design and sturdy construction, and adds to it a namesake skeletonized dial and chronograph functionality; the watch also follows the original Independence Skeleton 42mm.
Available in two variations, the first features a lightweight Grade 5 titanium case with a black DLC coating and purple detailing on the skeletonized dial, while the second offers a stainless steel case with gold-plated accents on the dial, providing a striking contrast to its skeletonized black satin-finished components. Both watches offer 100m of water resistance and feature Norqain’s signature left-side plate, which can be personalized with engraving.
At the center of the watch is the NORQAIN 8K Manufacture Calibre (NK24/1), an exclusive high-performance skeletonized flyback chronograph movement developed in collaboration with Manufacture AMT. Inspired by the world’s highest mountains— the “Eight-Thousanders”— the movement’s name reflects the daring spirit of the brand and its commitment to precision engineering.
Interesting in itself, the movement is further enhanced by its skeletonized design that works in tandem with the dial. The display, with its cutaway segments, creates a striking three-dimensional effect while maintaining the watch’s legibility. Norqain’s signature mountain motif is subtly integrated into the design alongside its logo, with additional decorative touches on the movement’s mainplate, bridges, and oscillating weight.
The Norqain Independence Skeleton Chrono is priced at $6,990 USD for the Titanium DLC edition and $6,490 USD for the Steel version on a bracelet, or $6,190 USD on a rubber strap.
