MSNBC host details list of Trump ally's evolving 'lies' about 'dead babies floating'
MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace cited a shocking moment that unfolded on Fox News this week when she said a host made the rare move of correcting a top associate of Donald Trump.
Speaking on the pro-Trump network Tuesday, his lawyer Alina Habba claimed that there were "dead babies floating in the water" of hurricane-ravaged states — and that Vice President Kamala Harris turned her back on them.
Fox News host Martha MacCallum seemed unconvinced, asking the lawyer to explain.

"Where did you see that report of a baby floating in the water?" she asked.
"We have absolutely heard there are children floating," Habba repeated. "There's missing bodies, dead bodies."
She cited the death toll, which, as of Tuesday night, was 232 people.
Wallace put on her glasses to accurately cite the facts.
"So, the lie on TV goes from 'there are babies floating,' to 'there are children floating,' to 'there are bodies floating,' to 'there are dead,' to 'there are dead people,' to 'there are 250 dead people,' to none of that is true, 'there are 232 dead,'" Wallace read of the evolution of the statements.
"I wonder," Wallace asked of Republican pollster Sarah Longwell, "when you look at sort of the breadth of an evolution of the folks you talk to all the time that the one or two-time Trump voters who soured on him. If seeing this under the lights in the final 27 days, what does this do?"
Longwell explained that she's unsure how this specifically will impact the Trump vote.
"When Donald Trump behaves this way, that it should sort of trigger that gut-level instinct from a decent person to say, 'This is horrible what he's doing,'" she said. "The same way that what he did to that community in Springfield was horrible. The thing is, though, there is always an issue where Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are in charge right now."
She said Trump is good at blame. People have fear and concern, and he "exploits it" by claiming the fault is laid on Biden and Harris.
