Espoo pilots digital Finnish language test to boost employment opportunities

A new digital initiative in Espoo aims to help jobseekers improve their employment prospects through an online Finnish language proficiency test. The experiment, launched in early 2024, tested how a browser-based language test could assess writing, speaking, and comprehension skills in Finnish. The goal is to provide foreign-language speakers with a quick, accessible tool for determining their language level, which can be shared with potential employers.
