Scott man arrested, charged with Washington, La. rape

WASHINGTON, La. (KLFY) -- A Scott man has been arrested and charged with rape after a month-long investigation, authorities said.
Jakorrie Smith, 28, of Scott, is charged with misdemeanor sexual battery and second degree rape.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office made a welfare check Sept. 2 on the occupant of of a home in the 100 block of Romar Drive in Washington after receiving numerous 911 calls. Officials said the resident alleged that she had been raped by Smith.
After an investigation that included interviews with both the victim and Smith, an arrest warrant was obtained for Smith on the above charges. Smith was arrested Oct. 4, and is being held on a $110,000 bond.
