Dissent even in the newly constituted MPC

Newly appointed external members of the monetary policy committee showed dissent in their first vote on policy rates. Nagesh Kumar voted for a cut, while other members voted for a status quo. Internal members unanimously voted to keep the policy rate unchanged at 6.5 percent. The committee also unanimously voted to change their stance from withdrawal of accommodation to neutral.
