Dera Sacha Sauda chief's former jailer wins from Charkhi Dadri

Sunil Sangwan, a former jail superintendent, won the Charkhi Dadri seat in Haryana as the BJP candidate. He defeated Congress' Manisha Sangwan by 1,957 votes. Haryana's polls were held on October 5 and results declared on Tuesday. He recently took voluntary retirement and joined BJP ahead of the elections. Sangwan's father is former MLA and ex-minister Satpal Sangwan.
