Foxconn to build world’s largest Nvidia superchip production facility in Mexico
Foxconn is building the world’s largest manufacturing facility for Nvidia’s GB200 superchips in Mexico.
The Taiwanese company is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and they’re often known for being Apple’s biggest iPhone assembler. They already have a large presence in Mexico, with more than $500 million having previously been invested into the state of Chihuahua.
The capacity of the upcoming plant has been described by Foxconn Chairman Young Liu as being “very, very enormous” but the exact details – including the location – aren’t yet known.
The company’s vice president Benjamin Ting said, “We’re building the largest GB200 production facility on the planet.”
At a company’s annual technology day in Taipei, Ting said “the demand is awfully huge,” reports Reuters.
While the company has already seen significant success in its industry, Foxconn is enjoying the AI boom. On Saturday (Oct, 5) the company announced its highest-ever revenue for the third quarter on strong demand for servers used to process AI systems.

In August Nvidia shared it had started shipping Blackwell samples to partners and customers after tweaking the design.
The company expects to ship several billion dollars in Blackwell revenue during the company’s fourth fiscal quarter.
In an interview with CNBC, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the demand for its next-generation artificial intelligence chip is “insane.”
It hasn’t yet been detailed, but Blackwell is expected to cost between $30,000 and $40,000 per unit. “Everybody wants to have the most and everybody wants to be first,” said Huang.
“At a time when the technology is moving so fast, it gives us an opportunity to triple down, to really drive the innovation cycle so that we can increase capabilities, increase our throughput, decrease our costs, decrease our energy consumption.”
“We’re on a path to do that, and everything’s on track.”
