A DERMATOLOGIST, who suffered from bald spots on her scalp, has revealed a £1.75 trick that helped her locks to become thick and shiny again.

Dr Neera revealed that she suffers from androgenetic alopecia, a common type of hair loss caused by an imbalance of the hormone DHT.

Taking to TikTok, the surgeon revealed the exacts steps she took to restore her hair to a healthy state.

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Dr Neera said that it is very important to target hair loss as soon as you notice it, and said that it is vital to focus on the root cause.

She said that even if you don’t suffer from dandruff, adding an anti-dandruff shampoo into your daily routine will help to target hair loss, as they have DHT blocking properties.

She recommended using the shampoo twice a week, lathering it onto the scalp, before leaving it for five minutes, and then rinses it off.

“There’s studies that say that anti-dandruff shampoo can actually reduce hair shedding and hair fall”, she said.

You can pick up anti-dandruff shampoo from Boots for just £1.75.

Minoxidil

Dr Neera said that you should use a topical hair growth product such as Minoxidil every day.

Minoxidil has been proven to stimulate hair growth, and it is thought that it works by aiding the blood flow to the cells in your scalp which grow hair, however the exact process is not known.

You can buy 2% minoxidil under the brand name Regaine from Boots for £25.95.

Laser Combs

Another product that Dr Neera recommended purchasing, is a laser comb or a laser helmet.

She revealed that both of these products have been proven to stimulate hair growth.

“You can use these in 10 to 15 minute sessions, two to three times per week.”

You can pick up a laser comb from Amazon, for as little as £11.59.

Hair loss tips

We can lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day, according to the NHS.

It is not usually something to worry about, but occasional it can be a sign of a medical concern.

These include illness, stress, cancer treatment, weight loss and iron deficiency.

The NHS advises to book an appointment with your GP to see if you can get to the cause of it.

Experts at American Academy of Dermatology Association also recommend to eat healthy, limit curling irons and only use them for special occasions.

They also recommend using a gentle shampoo, and make use of leave-in conditioners.

Dr Neera’s (@dermatologysurgeon) video, has likely left many people impressed, as it has racked up over 2 million views on the video sharing platform.
