‘Terrified just thinking about it’ cult classic psychological horror title is returning for a third time

0

THERE are plenty of popular horror franchises, but some are so terrifying not many people have dared to play them.

It’s October, which means that people are preparing to play their favourite spooky games such as Resident Evil, or the latest Silent Hill 2 remake.

It’s also the month that studios are announcing their upcoming horror games, such as the Alien Isolation sequel which is in early development.

While all of these games are spooky, none of them are quite as terrifying as the psychological horror game people are too scared to play.

Pathologic is a game you might have heard of but probably haven’t been brave enough to play.

It is brutally difficult, stretching your resources thinner than any other horror game, and any mistakes you make have lasting consequences.

You can’t even go back and make different dialogue decisions, meaning you may miss out on important side quests and even endings.

It was made to be replayed at least three times, as if the torture of playing once wasn’t enough.

Developer Ice-Pick Lodge created a sequel, Pathologic 2, which follows a similar story, but hoped to be less frustrating for fans.

It may have toned down on the frustration, but the tension, stress and horror are just as high.

Pathologic 2 follows the Haruspex’s Route from the original game, and next year people will be able to take on another story.

Ice-Pick Lodge is preparing to launch Pathologic 3 in 2025, and this time it will tell the story from the Bachelor’s perspective.

Over five years after the Haruspex’s Route was launched, people will be able to see the world of Pathologic in a whole new light.

Pathologic tells the story of a town suffering from a mysterious plague, and in Pathologic 3, you’ll play as a city doctor who comes in to help the people.

This threequel will also have a tight 12-day time limit, but you’ll be able to go back in time and revisit key events for the first time in the series.

This seems like it will remove a lot of tension from the game, but we have no doubt that Ice-Pick has some other twist in store.
