Meet Mühle-Glashütte’s New Sportivo Family at WatchTime New York 2024
With the new Sportivo collection, Mühle-Glashütte will showcase its new watch family at this year’s WatchTime New York, which will take place from October 18 to 20 at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall. The versatile high-end sports watch collection comprises three models, the Sportivo Compass Date, Sportivo Travel GMT, and Sportivo Active Chronograph, each produced in stainless steel cases with a diameter of 42.5 millimeters and a water-resistance rating of 30 bar (300 meters).
As is typical of the Glashütte traditional brand, the new Sportivo watches are powered by automatic movements equipped with Mühle’s own shock-resistant woodpecker regulation and personalized rotor. The calibers, which are regulated to chronometer standards, each come to life through a transparent case back. As is crucial for sports watches, the trio features luminescent and easy-to-read dials protected by a thick anti-reflective sapphire crystal. They are additionally attached to resilient canvas-rubber straps featuring pin buckles or bracelets, though steel bracelets are also available at a $300 premium.
Sportivo Compass Date
Designed for outdoor hiking activities, this time-only model comes with a bidirectional rotating compass bezel that allows the determination of the cardinal points. It features a ceramic inlay and frames the blue gradient dial that has a beautiful embossed texture reminiscent of the ripples on a water surface or an ice pattern. The Sportivo Compass Date is driven by the tried-and-tested SW 200-1 caliber and offers second-stop and quick-date functions.
Pricing is marked at approximately $2,800 when converted to USD.
Mühle-Glashütte Sportivo Active Chronograph
This self-winding chronograph also combines modern design with the Glashütte brand’s functionality-oriented design DNA. Like the Sportivo Compass Date, it has a stunning blue dial with a color gradient and embossed texture which is framed by a bidirectional rotating bezel. The chronograph second and minute hands as well as the minute circle stand out in orange. Here, the date display is located at 6 o’clock. The watch is powered by the automatic MU 9419 caliber, which has a power reserve of 64 hours.
Pricing is marked at approximately $4,400 when converted to USD.
Mühle-Glashütte Sportivo Travel GMT
In an era where global travel is seamless, a GMT watch has become a must-have for any modern watch collection. The third model in the Sportivo lineup, the Sportivo Travel GMT, is perfectly equipped for this, offering the functionality of two time zones.
The second time zone is indicated by a subtle arrow-tipped hand, which points to a raised 24-hour scale around the dial. This arrow motif is echoed in the prominent hour hand, enhancing its visibility. Additionally, Mühle-Glashütte includes a date function, visible through a window at 3 o’clock. At the core of this travel-ready timepiece is the automatic SW 330-2 caliber, providing a power reserve of 56 hours.
The watch is priced around $3,200 when converted to USD.
