OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The deadline for voter registration is quickly approaching.

Friday, October 11 is the last day you can register for the November election and we have what you need to know as you prepare to hit the polls.

Over 2.4 million Oklahomans are already registered to vote in the upcoming election, but if you’re one that still needs to or if you have any questions, the message from the state election board is do not procrastinate.

"We are seeing a high volume of requests right now,” Misha Mohr with the state election board said.

Mohr said with the deadline being this week, all questions or issues need to be addressed immediately. You can verify or register to vote by using the Oklahoma voter portal or in person. OVP (oklahoma.gov)

"In order to register and submit your voter registration application online, you do have to have a current and valid Oklahoma driver's license or state ID,” Mohr said.

All information has to appear the same as it does on your I.D. You also need a digital signature on file with Service Oklahoma and the address on your license must match the address you use for registration. State and federal law requires ongoing voter list maintenance. Since 2021, about over 400,000 registrations have been removed.

"The best way to make sure that you are not removed from the rolls is simply to keep your registration up to date and of course, get out and vote,” Mohr said.
