Savvy mums race to Tesco to nab school uniform reduced to just four PENCE, but you’ll have to be quick to get some
PARENTS are racing to Tesco after discovering that school uniform in the supermarket has been reduced to just 4p.
A savvy mum took to TikTok to share her find, after being left stunned by just how drastic the reductions were.
“This is your sign to run to Tesco,” Sherene wrote over the top of the clip.
“All school stuff 4p!”
She then panned the camera around the rails and rails of grey school trousers, dresses and multi-packs of T-shirts and shirts – all of which were just 4p each.
“RUN TO TESCO!!!” she captioned the TikTok.
People were quick to comment on the video, with one asking: “All tesco?”
“She said most stores but not all, look for reduced to clear signs,” Sherene replied.
She also revealed that she’d found the deals at a Tesco in Langdon Hills, Essex.
“Why can’t they be 4p in August before spending £100s?” another sighed.
“Bargain though!!!”
“I literally said the same thing,” Sherene laughed.
“Huge selection in Burnley store,” a third wrote.
“Is this actually true though? Why are they so cheap?” someone else wondered.
As Sherene admitted she’d wondered the same thing, adding: “I hope there’s no catch!”
And others were left fuming after missing out on the deals in their local Tesco stores.
“I paid full price for 2 cardigans and the Tesco in stretford today,” one sighed.
“Girl I just came out of tescoooo!” another said.
EXTRA HELP WITH SCHOOL UNIFORM COSTS
IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you.
In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing.
Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores.
Some charities offer help to families in need too.
But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant.

Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch.

If you’re not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund.

With Sherene replying: “Literally!
“If I never had the kids with me I would have bought the lot and donated to people that needed them.”
Many Tesco stores do actually have school uniform banks, where people can buy uniform and donate to local schools and students in need.
There are also clothing banks in many Tesco car parks, which were rolled out in December 2003 and have generated 387,216kg of textile since then.
