Iranian Officials: Quds Force commander not killed in Israeli attack on Lebanon

Iranian media, citing officials, have reported that Ismail Qaani, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, was not killed in an Israeli attack on Lebanon.

Tasnim News Agency, a media outlet close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported on Monday, October 7, quoting the deputy coordinator of the Quds Force, that Qaani is alive.

The IRGC Quds Force deputy coordinator told Tasnim, “Many are asking what happened to Commander Qaani. He is in good health and actively continuing his duties.”

Meanwhile, foreign media outlets had speculated about Qaani’s fate, with reports from two senior Iranian security officials revealing that contact with him had been lost since the attacks in Beirut last week.

Reports suggest that Ismail Qaani was present in Beirut at the time of the Israeli attack, which took place last Thursday.

While Iranian officials have confirmed Qaani’s safety, the situation has highlighted ongoing concerns about the region’s instability. The loss of contact during critical moments further emphasizes the high stakes and uncertainty in the Middle East.
