A 17-year-old boy was killed after the car he was in crashed outside a London hospital during a police chase.

All three people in the car were rushed to hospital after the incident just metres away from Central Middlesex Hospital, in the centre of the Park Royal business estate.

The teenager was later pronounced dead, while the other two people remain in hospital, the Metropolitan Police said.

One of them is in a critical condition, while the injuries of the second victim are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Met Police cordoned the scene after the incident

Pictures from the seen outside the hospital reveal the mangled wreckage of a red Ford Fiesta.

The crash happened at about 5.25am on Monday. Their car was being pursued by the driver of a marked police car before it struck a kerb and rolled over.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: ‘London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended. Three males – all occupants of the car – were taken to hospital for treatment.

‘One of these males, aged 17, subsequently died in hospital. The other two people remain in hospital; one is in a critical condition – the other is not believed to be seriously injured.

‘Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing and road closures remain in place at the location.’

The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
