Amazon, Target, other retailers ramp up hiring for holiday season

SEATTLE, Washington: Retailers and department stores will hire more people for the holiday shopping season, but there will be fewer seasonal employees to help customers in stores and assemble online orders in warehouses.

E-commerce giant Amazon said this week it would hire 250,000 full, part-time, and seasonal workers for the crucial shopping period. It was the same number they hired last year.
