Will Hurricane Milton hit NY?
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Milton strengthened to a Category 5 hurricane on Monday as it made its way toward Florida.
A massive evacuation is expected in the state. It could be the biggest since Hurricane Irma, where around 7 million Floridians were urged to evacuate.
Milton comes as Florida recovers from Hurricane Helene, which left at least 230 people dead across the U.S.
Could Hurricane Milton hit New York state?
Milton is expected to move from the Gulf of Mexico up to Florida by Wednesday, tracking maps from the National Hurricane Center showed. Heavy rain will hit the state on Monday ahead of the hurricane.
Milton will then move to the Atlantic Ocean toward Bermuda by Saturday. New York state isn't expected to be impacted by the storm, according to maps.
