Dereham Otters Shine at Thetford Dolphins Nifty Fifty Gala
Dereham Otters Swimming Club made waves at the Thetford Dolphins' Nifty Fifty Gala on Sunday 8th September, delivering an outstanding performance. With 19 swimmers competing in various events, the club demonstrated their prowess in the pool by securing a haul of 16 medals and a staggering 48 personal bests.
Dereham Otters showcased their determination and skill throughout the day, earning 5 Gold medals, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals across several events achieving Personal Best times in almost every event they competed in.
Among the gold medalists was Charley Taylor who put on a stunning display in the 100 IM, clinching first place with a strong finish. The clubs silver medalists also demonstrated equally strong performances, including Imogen Parnell with her 50m breaststroke, while several other swimmers touched the pads with bronze finishes and personal bests.
The event was a great success for the Dereham Otters, with head coach Sam Watts commending the swimmers for their hard work and determination. "I couldn't be prouder of how our team performed today. To see so many personal bests is a testament to the dedication and effort the swimmers have been investing into training in recent weeks" said the coach.
This remarkable success has kick started what is set to be a very successful season for Dereham Otters!
