As fighter strength dips below 1965 level, Air chief vows to fight with 'whatever we have'

Indian Air Force's combat strength is at a historic low with only 31 squadrons. Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh emphasised adaptation with available assets while pushing for faster LCA production. The decline in force is due to retiring Soviet fighters and delayed replacements. He insisted on timely LCA deliveries and involving private sector for future needs.
