UConn's 96-yard scoop-and-score on Temple's failed tush push as time expired was a horrible beat
Temple was so close to pulling off a big upset over the UConn Huskies Saturday. The Owls entered the game as 17.5-point underdogs, but after a back-and-forth second half, they were in position to win as the clock was winding down.
Trailing 23-20 inside of four minutes, the Owls went on a 10-play, 71-yard drive to the 1-yard line that left just a single second on the clock. And instead of kicking the field goal to force overtime, they went for the win.
Fittingly for a Philadelphia-based team, Temple tried a tush push for the win. But it wasn’t very Eagles-like. Somehow, the ball ended up on the ground and UConn recovered it for a 96-yard fumble recovery.
Game over.

With around +605 odds on the moneyline, Temple bettors had to be in complete shock about what happened.
