'I'm cringing': 'Socially awkward' Elon Musk mocked for 'low energy' speech at Trump rally

Donald Trump's rally on Saturday featured the richest man in the world as a speaker, but his performance was panned by critics.

Trump over the weekend spoke in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former president delivered remarks at the location of an attempt on his life three months prior. Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance was slammed for a perceived insult to the man who died during that assassination attempt, and Trump himself paused the rally for several minutes for a medical emergency.

Trump also welcomed to the rally stage Elon Musk, the owner of the social media company previously known as Twitter.

Musk predicted that, if Trump doesn't win the upcoming presidential election, it will be our last election.

But users of Musk's own social media site were more focused on his abilities, or lack thereof, as a speaker.

Former Trump campaign aide A.J. Delgado, for instance, wrote on X, "

Freelance writer Jason Elias chimed in:

"Elon Musk fumbled the ball. Wore a little baseball cap and looked like an ingratiating exchange student with his broken accent. 'I’M American too!!'"

Journalist Jason Smith wrote, "socially awkward than Donald Trump."

"Ladies and gentlemen, Elon Musk," Smith added.

Former prosecutor Ron Filipkowski wrote, "This might be the cringiest s--- I've ever seen in politics."

Lincoln Project co-founder Reed Galen also replied, "Oh, Lordy there's tape."
