Two hospitalized after shooting leads to crash in Northeast Portland

PORTLAND Ore. (KOIN) -- A driver and passenger are in the hospital after their car was shot at, leading them to crash in Northeast Portland Friday evening.

Just before 6 p.m., officers responded to the area of Northeast Columbia Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on reports that shots had been fired.

On arrival, they found a man had crashed his car after being shot while driving.

Both the man and his passenger were taken to the hospital with what officials believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say possible suspects were in another vehicle and had driven off before police were called.

As a result, police say no immediate arrests were made.

Northeast Columbia was closed in both directions between MLK and Mallory Avenue for the duration of the investigation.
