Gwion double as Seagulls hit five
GWION DAFYDD came off the bench to score two score twice as the Seagulls made it 10 games unbeaten with a 5-0 victory away to Gresford Athletic.
Sol Forde, Josh Carey and Dan Atkins were the other scorers for Bay who have now hit 19 goals in their last four games.
After a slow start to the game with neither side able to create too much, the Bay burst the game open with two goals in four minutes.
Josh Watkin had cleared off the line for Gresford and keeper Lewis Dutton did well to save a Josh Carey free kick which was curling into the corner, but Jay Owen’s corner found Sol Forde who scored from close range, and then Jamie Cumming played in Josh Carey who held off his marker and finished well.
The Bay pressed from the start of the second half, creating a number of half chances, but finally killed the game off with two goals in the space of two minutes.
Dan Atkins scored from a rebound after Will McKinley’s shot came back off a post on 63 minutes, and then a minute after coming on as a substitute Gwion Dafydd was brought down in the box and scored from the resulting penalty,
A minute into added time Josh Carey slid the ball in to Gwion who curled a lovely shot into the far corner of the net for his second goal and Bay’s fifth.
