News and Notes - The ALDS is Finally Here

Game 1 first pitch will be at 1:08 PM.

To quote Peach the starfish from Finding Nemo:

“Today’s the day!”

Today at 1:08PM Tanner Bibee will take the mound in his first major league playoff baseball game. Game 1 of the ALDS against a division rival, the Detroit Tigers.

But let’s look back to yesterday, or Big Christmas Eve as Quincy coined it.

Mandy Bell sat down with the MLB Network to discuss the Game 1 matchup.

At the time of writing, the Guardians ALDS roster has not yet been confirmed. But why change up the trend this far into the season? I’m just hoping that we find out before gates open at Progressive Field (11AM, for those wondering).

Those of you going down to the game today, the Guardians announced some new food options for the playoffs.

Travis Fryman will be throwing the first pitch in Game 1. Josh Tomlin will get the honor for Game 2. The team has requested that the fans attending the home games participate in a red out and wear their favorite red Cleveland baseball gear!

If you’re at home or at the ballpark, get ready for the ride. Grab your lucky hats, your favorite jersey, and make sure you have plenty of snacks. October baseball has arrived in Cleveland, Ohio and it is bound to be entertaining.

Game times for the remainder of the series have been determined:

San Diego Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove will undergo Tommy John’s.

Kodai Senga to make the Game 1 start for the Mets.
