Update 10:30 p.m. 10/4/24: Lake Oswego defeats Tualatin, 45-31.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) - The Three Rivers League gets underway with a big showdown this Friday at 7 p.m., when No. 9 Tualatin (4-0) travels to No. 5 Lake Oswego (4-0). Both sides enter the game with perfect records, setting the stage for an exciting matchup between two of Oregon's best 6A teams.

Senior quarterback Nolan Keeney, who is headed to BYU, is the leader of Tualatin's pack. The Timberwolves' flawless start has been largely attributed to his outstanding playmaking skills. With Keeney's leadership and throwing, Tualatin has become one of the state's most exciting offenses. The Timberwolves defeated Lake Oswego 14-0 in their previous meeting, and they hope to duplicate that performance this year.

Lake Oswego, though, isn't going to back down. One of the best players in the state, junior running back LaMarcus Bell, leads the Lakers. Bell's strength and quickness make him a dangerous player on the field, and the Lakers' chances of winning back what they lost the previous season will depend on him.

The stakes are significant as both sides are desperate to win and keep their perfect records. Not only will this matchup determine the Three Rivers League standings, but it will also have a significant impact on the playoffs. Anticipate fireworks as Tualatin's explosive offense squares off against Lake Oswego's dynamic ground game in what may prove to be one of the season's most thrilling contests.
