RPI president appointed to semiconductor industry advisory committee
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The president of a local college will help oversee the expansion of the semiconductor chip manufacturing industry in the United States.
Sen. Chuck Schumer said RPI Pres. Martin Schmidt has been appointed to the industrial advisory committee. The committee will guide the U.S. Department of Commerce by providing the latest semiconductor research and workforce training needs.
RPI has several programs and facilities meant to help students enter the semiconductor industry.
