NATIONAL SUMMARY

Thunderstorms will rumble along the Gulf Coast all day as

showers will exit New England in the morning. Afternoon

thunderstorms are expected to develop in northeastern

Minnesota, northern and western Wisconsin and the western

Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Those storms will progress

eastward through the rest of northern Wisconsin, the Upper

Peninsula of Michigan and eventually into the western and

central Lower Peninsula of Michigan overnight. Farther

south, a hot day is in store over western Iowa, southeastern

Nebraska and much of Kansas and Oklahoma. The

record-challenging heat will continue in parts of the Desert

Southwest. The heat will also reach northward into the

Central Valley of California. Meanwhile, the northern Plains

and northern Rockies will be breezy and cool.
