Khamenei calls on Afghanistan to join ‘Defense Belt’ against Israel
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, on Friday called upon Afghanistan and other Islamic countries to unite in a defense alliance against Israel. He emphasized the need for solidarity among Muslim nations to resist external threats.
In his Friday prayer speech in Tehran, Khamenei stated, “If any nation wants to avoid the paralyzing siege of the enemy, it must open its eyes from the beginning and stay alert.”
Khamenei stressed, “When it sees the enemy going to another nation, it should partner with that oppressed nation and help it, cooperate with it so that the enemy does not succeed there.”
He warned “that if the enemy succeeds in one place, it will eventually target other nations, making early cooperation crucial.”
“We Muslims have neglected this fact for many years, and we have seen the consequences,” Khamenei said. “Today, we can no longer afford to be careless. We must remain vigilant.”
Khamenei urged Islamic countries to strengthen their defense, independence, and honor, tying a defensive belt that stretches from Afghanistan to Yemen, and from Iran to Gaza and Lebanon.
He further added, “Every strike launched by any group against Israel is a service to the region and to all humanity,” reinforcing Iran’s stance of opposing Israeli actions in the region.
The recent escalation between Israel and Lebanon has seen heightened conflict, with Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon as tensions continue to grow.
Iran has vowed to retaliate against Israeli actions, following missile strikes from Lebanon. This retaliation included threats of targeting Israeli energy and gas installations if the conflict escalates further.
In response to Israel’s military actions, Iran launched ballistic missile attacks on Israeli targets, marking a significant escalation in the conflict between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the ongoing airstrikes and military exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah have resulted in extensive damage, displacing thousands of people in Lebanon and further destabilizing the region.
The international community continues to call for de-escalation, but the situation remains tense, with both Israel and Iran showing no signs of backing down from their military campaigns.
