Easson makes six changes to starting line-up for Japan clash
Scotland Women’s Head Coach Bryan Easson has made six changes to the team as they prepare to face Japan in round two of WXV 2 in Cape Town on Saturday, 5 October.
Leah Bartlett returns at loosehead while Louise McMillan is selected to join Sarah Bonar in the second row. Alex Stewart comes in to start at openside while Jade Konkel anchors the pack from the number eight jersey. Once again Rachel Malcolm will skipper, having earned her 50th cap in the win over Italy.
Helen Nelson and Caity Mattinson will continue to pull the strings at stand-off and scrum-half.
Meryl Smith shifts from inside centre to outside so Lisa Thomson can join her in the midfield.
Rhona Lloyd returns to the starting line-up, joining Chloe Rollie and Francesca McGhie in the back-three positions while Coreen Grant drops out of the 23 entirely.
Once again, Easson has opted for a five-three split of forwards and backs with Elis Martin, Anne Young, Lisa Cockburn, Eva Donaldson and Evie Gallagher in line for another cap from the bench. Leia Brebner-Holden, Emma Orr and Lucia Scott complete the match-day 23 as the backs replacements.
