New Delhi: The fourth match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 was played between India and New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. In this match, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. Playing first, the New Zealand team scored 160 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs and gave India a target of 161 runs to win. In response, the Indian team was reduced to 102 runs in 19 overs. After this victory, the Kiwi team got 2 points, while India started with a defeat.
India’s innings, Harmanpreet Kaur scored 15 runs:
India’s first wicket fell in the form of Shefali Verma who was out after scoring 2 runs. India’s second wicket fell in the form of Smriti Mandhana who returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s bat did not work against the Kiwi team and she returned to the pavilion on 15 runs. Jemima scored 13 runs in this match while Richa Ghosh scored 12 runs. Apart from this, Dipti Sharma also scored 13 runs, Arundhati scored one and Pooja scored 8 runs. Rosemary Mair took the maximum of 4 wickets for her team.
New Zealand’s innings, Sophie scored a half-century:
In this match, Sophie Devine played a perfect innings for New Zealand and scored an unbeaten half-century for her team. She was also the best scorer of the team and scored an unbeaten 57 runs in 35 balls. For the Kiwi team, Suzy scored 27 runs while Georgia scored 34 runs. Apart from these, Emily Kerr scored 13 runs while Brookie scored 16 runs. For India, Renuka Singh took 2 wickets while Arundhati and Asha Shobhana took one wicket each.
