Bus crash near Quetta, Pakistan, kills 7, injures 19
Officials reported that at least seven people were killed and 19 others injured when a bus carrying wedding guests plunged into a ravine near Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, on Thursday.
A health official confirmed that the bodies of the victims and the injured had been transported to a local hospital.
Some of the injured are in critical condition. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
Road accidents are common in Pakistan due to poor highway conditions and the lack of adherence to traffic regulations.
In August, 32 people were killed in two separate bus accidents in the provinces of Balochistan and Punjab.
The recurring road accidents in Pakistan highlight the urgent need for improved road infrastructure and stricter enforcement of traffic laws. The loss of life and injury in such incidents continues to strain the country’s health system and devastate families.
The government must take immediate steps to address these issues, ensuring safer transportation and reducing the frequency of such tragic accidents in the future.
