Could Odell Beckham Jr. Face Patriots In Week 5? Dolphins Wideout Responds
Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is back on the practice field after he spent the first four weeks of the season on Miami's physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Beckham returned to the field Wednesday, opening a 21-day window to be added to the active roster. Although his return to practice doesn't confirm he will be on the gameday roster against the New England Patriots on Sunday, it served as a step in the right direction.
The veteran pass-catcher expressed optimism in how he's feeling after recovering from a knee procedure. But Beckham told reporters whether he takes the field at Gillette Stadium on Sunday is up to Miami head coach Mike McDaniel.
"I don't know, you got to ask coach," Beckham told reporters Thursday, per a team-provided video.
"I'm just excited to get back out there. Whenever it is, just coming up with a game plan, easing me back into it a little bit and let's just play ball."
Dolphins safety Jevon Hollard and wide receivers coach Wes Welker, who are well-known to Patriots fans, told reporters Beckham has looked great.
"He looks like the Odell that we've seen," Welker told reporters, per Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad. "We're getting him out there, getting him moving around, chemistry with all of the guys in the room. And with the quarterbacks. And just continue to work the process."
Beckham was signed this offseason to serve as Miami's third wide receiver and complement Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
The 1-3 Patriots host the 1-3 Dolphins at Gillette Stadium on Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
