Police: 3 arrested after found with stolen car in Watervliet
WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to the Watervliet Police Department, three people were arrested after fleeing from a stolen car on September 26. Kemaury Everette, 18, and two juvenile boys face the same charges.
Charges
- Third-degree criminal possession of stolen property
- Fourth-degree grand larceny
- Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
Police say they saw a car reported stolen out of Albany parked near Third Street and 16th Street when they saw three people get inside. According to law enforcement, when they went to take action the three people fled on foot while leaving the car in gear, causing it to hit a police car.
There was a short foot pursuit before Everette and the two minors were found, per the Watervliet Police Department. Police say they also found stolen credit cards on the suspects.
One juvenile was issued an appearance ticket and released to his parents while the other was placed in the Capital District Secure Juvenile Detention Facility on outstanding warrants. Everette was issued an appearance ticket and released.
