SANWO-OLU HONOURS ADEKANYE, TG/PS OF EDUCATION DISTRICT II

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has honoured the Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye with the Governor’s Commendation for Institutional Excellence as Most Outstanding Education District in Lagos State at a glamorous event which took place recently at Marriott Hotel, Ikeja 

The prestigious recognition was bestowed on the recipient as a result of her tireless efforts toward the development of children and radical implementation of  Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Awareness programmes in Education District II, Lagos State.

Receiving the award, Mrs. Adekanye expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, for their exemplary leadership and deep commitment to the development of education in Lagos State. 

She said, “Serving under the Governor’s vision-driven administration is both a privilege and an inspiration that has propelled my passion to elevate the standards of education in District II and contribute to the holistic growth of students across Lagos”.

Adekanye, who also commended the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, for doing so much for Lagos Education, and particularly for always supporting education development, lauded the leadership of the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, whose encouragement and support have been crucial to the various achievements of Education District II. 

Adekanye said, “The consistent backing of the Commissioner for Education has made the district a key player in driving educational innovation and safeguarding students from societal challenges like domestic and sexual violence, adding that the collaborative efforts of the entire district team have ensured the protection and welfare of children in schools.

Recall that the Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye has made courageous efforts in human and infrastructure improvement, achieved significant student and staff performance, and made enormous contributions in integrating technology into the learning process. 

Over the past years, Adekanye has achieved remarkable milestones, including producing one-day governors, one-day deputy governors of Lagos State, and multiple winners of Nation and State Teachers and Administrator’s awards, among other notable achievements
