Woman fell to her death from Mag Mile building

A 43-year-old woman fell to her death from a Magnificent Mile building Wednesday night, Chicago police said.

She fell about 6:30 p.m. from the roof of a building in the 600 block of North Michigan Avenue, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating the incident and did not provide additional information about the circumstances that led to her death.

Southbound lanes on Michigan Avenue were closed near Erie Street for about an hour after the incident, according to the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
