I moved into my dream home but it had AWFUL red tiles – I transformed them in a night with an £8 bargain B&M buy

SHE’S moved into her dream home with her sons.

But Lucy has some work to do to get the property up to her standards, starting with getting rid of the “awful red tiles” in the kitchen.

So, instead of shelling out for a whole load of new tiles, she decided to use some tile paint

She was unsure whether or not the budget buy would do enough to cover the colour

She explained in a video on her TikTok page that she used a cream tile paint from B&M for the project.

“These were them before,” she said, showing the red tiles.

“They’re not bad, the colour red is nice but just not for my kitchen, it’s not the vibe that I’m going for.”

As an added bonus, you don’t need to use any primer before slapping on the paint.

However, you must give the surface a good clean, with Lucy revealing she also gently sanded it to ensure it took the paint properly.

“I’ve got no method to doing this, I’m literally just slapping it on with a brush in between where all the grout is and then just going over with a roller,” she said.

“I think, I only think this tub of paint cost me £8 from B&M but I’m trying to do my house up on a budget.

“It’s just me and my boys that live here and I just want to make it as homely and cosy as possible!”

As she started painting, Lucy admitted she hadn’t realised how well the paint would cover the red straight away.

“I thought that the first coat was going to be like really see through,” she said.

“But it’s not, it’s covered them really well.

“So this is the first coat and I think it’s amazing.

“What I love about this tile paint is it’s shiny, it still looks like real tiles.”

And people in the comments section were quick to weigh in, with one writing: “I hate tile paint but stay with me – this looks amazing!

“100% improvement and as you say looks like tiles. You’ve converted me!”

“That’s amazing! I usually hate tile paint because you can tell it’s paint but that looks soo good ,” another added.
